Today I was in Paris to meet a client and fit some dresses; since I finished earlier then expected and still had a few hours before my flight back to Milan, I took quickly the underground ( the fastest way for sure!) and went to the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. The line was quite long and extremely slo, but I managed to enter and i started feeling like a child at Disneyland!
I was inside a huge retrospective on Christian Dior's work, featuring more than 300 dresses, from the house of Dior origins to the most recent creations. The exhibition included also accessories,, fashion photography, artwork, original documents and illustrations.
I loved the rooms exposing some pieces of each different creative director who followed after Monsieur Dior death: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferrè, John Galliano, Raf Simons and maria Grazia Chiuri. And I will never forget my joy entering the large final gallery- the Dior Ballroom - with dazzling ball gowns once worn by stars like Princess Grace of Monaco and Charlize Theron.
